Harry's Goes Heart Healthy

Seven New, Never-frozen, Single-serve Entrées Address Demand for Fresh, Better-for-You Convenience Foods

Harry's Fresh Foods Healthy Bistro Entrées

Portland, Ore. (June 5, 2007)– Harry’s Fresh Foods (Harry’s), manufacturer of ready-to-eat soups, entrées, sides and desserts freshly prepared in small batches, has added a line of heart healthy, single-serve entrées.

All seven of the new Harry's Healthy Bistro™ entrées meet the Food and Drug Administration’s sodium, fat and cholesterol requirements in order to be able to carry a Coronary Heart Disease prevention claim, but don’t skimp on flavor.  WebMD research shows that 70 million Americans – one in three adult men and women – suffer from at least one form of heart disease.

Harry’s Healthy Bistro entrees are 10 oz., and will be available at major grocery stores in the refrigerated deli section beginning in August.

According to the American Heart Association, nine in 10 shoppers believe eating healthfully is a better way to manage illness than taking medication.  “Consumers are demanding heart-healthy and lower sodium foods,” said Rod “Harry” Harris, founder of Harry’s. “Up to now, however, many of the better-for-you frozen entrée offerings have lacked flavor and overall product quality.  Using fresh ingredients and small-batch cooking method allows Harry’s to produce a noticeably superior product.”
